Abstract
Net primary productivity (NPP), the key indicator for vegetation growth, closely relates with crop yield and food supply for human society. Based on the ground observed data of weather stations, the maps of Chinese vegetation classification, soil quality and land use, NPP is calculated by using an efficiency model. Characteristics in spatial distribution and seasonal change are analyzed
