Abstract
In this paper, a novel end-to-end distortion model based on H.264 in the error-prone environment is developed. And then, a new JSCC (Joint Source-Channel Coding) video coding scheme based on the optimization of the constructed model is proposed. This scheme is capable of allocating source rate and channel rate adaptively in accordance with the channel condition such as SNR and channel bandwidth. The experiment results indicate that the proposed JSCC scheme can significantly improve the reconstructed video quality without increasing the bandwidth.
