Abstract :
A laboratory fixed-bed has been designed and used to simulate the coal or biomass combustion in industrial chain-grate boiler. The coal or biomass in the fixed-bed is heated in a transient mode to provide a Lagrangian simulation of the time, temperature, and environmental history experienced by small section of coal or biomass, which is in the fuel bed in a large chain-grate boiler. The temperature in furnace, residence time of furnace gases, the NOx concentration of flue gases, and the soot concentration of flue gases has been measured. It is convenient and inexpensive research method for combustion in chain-grate boiler.
