Cluster analysis of entrepreneurial developing level of Chinese cities

Abstract :
The article selects the 24 cities from the 2007–2008 GEM survey as the research objects. By using “the number of private enterprise or self-employed household per ten thousands persons”, “the proportion of private economy in GDP”, “the entrepreneurial support service conditions”, “the entrepreneurial fundamental support service conditions” and “ the entrepreneurial atmosphere support conditions” as five cluster variables, the article assesses the entrepreneurial developing level of these 24 cities by applying the cluster analysis methodology. The article also analyzes four types of entrepreneurial city features and suggests the ways for the entrepreneurial environment improvement and enhancement.
