Abstract
A modified ammonia emission model of the simulated food waste composting process was developed based on Contois function for urban waste management in this study. The model was validated through the designed experiments and run in MATLAB7. The modeling results showed good agreement with experiments´, with average relative errors of 9.91% for organic matter content and 16.07% for ammonia emission after correction, respectively.
