Abstract :
Easy access to accurate and up to date information plays an important role in optimizing the performance of manufacturing enterprises. Networks play a definite role in the integration of shop-floor information and business system information in the informational age and the related new economy. Integrated automation achieves the transparency and creates a consistent flow of data. Information portals of e-manufacturing era provide an information aggregation, and decision support infrastructure that delivers information to every user. WAP, an underlying protocol, allows access to Internet and World Wide Web from any wireless device. The concept of WAP boils down to the facts that anyone with a digital cellular device should be able to do limited Web surfing from anywhere, at their convenience to perform routine transaction. This paper describes a method to reuse the existing Internet infrastructure and transforming the information to wireless/mobile devices.
