Abstract
Natural language processing is an active research field of artificial intelligence. Study of morphology of words is important for almost any field of natural language processing that require information about word characteristics. In this paper, the morphology of verbs in Urdu is analyzed by listing verbs of different transitivity and forms in tables and finding their common suffixes. The analysis shows that a single verb appears in 19 forms, excluding causative forms. If we include causative forms, the maximum forms of a single verb are 57. The verb morphology is implemented by using lexical transducer, which are not only efficient but also provide compact storage space.
