Abstract :
This paper is a study on the verification of high efficient operation for high power chopper based on new soft switching method of Snubber Assisted Zero voltage and Zero current transition (SAZZ) aimed for the fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV). Three phase interleaved 30 kHz 90 kW power chopper using SAZZ soft switching is basically proposed and fabricated as a prototype-model using IGBTs. The load test of 15 kW per one phase, adjustment test for auxiliary resonant parameter and comparison test with hard switching have been completed. 98.1% efficiency at 15 kW per one phase was measured and it corresponds to 45 kW with efficiency of 98.1%.
