Application of Decision Support System in E-Government

With the extensive application of various e-government systems, the decision support system for e-government (DSS for e-government) is required urgently. How to construct an effective data platform to provide support for government decision-making is a complicated matter. This paper analyzes the framework of the DSS for E-government firstly, which totally includes four subsystems: data warehouse and its management system, model library and its management system, knowledge library and its management system, and human-computer interaction system. Secondly, the paper puts forward five requirements of data processing in DSS for e-government from different aspects: processing all kinds of government data, integrating heterogeneous data together, centralized processing of various data, finding correlative data timely and high data security. Finally, it studies several key techniques refer to the development of a DSS for E-government, those techniques are mainly about data warehouse, online analysis and process, data mining, modeling, interface, knowledge representation and reasoning, and system integration.
