Abstract :
The rapidly growing use of information and communication technologies (ICT) is one of the defining hallmarks of economic and social development in every country on the planet. Yet, the potential for ICT to continue to do great good in advancing science and health, education, environment and bridging social and economic disparities also comes with an enormous hidden cost - ICT products are some of the most burdensome products on the planet.
