Abstract
The Aerospace Corporation recently added live e-learning to its internal education program, focusing on proprietary topics that are core to the needs of its employee base and unique to the corporation. The new technology facilitates development and delivery of classes, simultaneously capturing sessions with student participation for playback after the event. One year into its deployment, we have developed processes for creating and repurposing materials for the live environment, implemented a procedure for bringing new instructors into the e-learning realm, and learned where live e-learning best complements a blend of in-class and electronically delivered curriculum. This paper shares our lessons learned and details a successful path for making e-learning work in the corporate engineering environment.
