Abstract :
This paper presents a new current control strategy to minimize the current harmonics of a photovoltaic (PV) 500kW three-phase inverter using a proportional resonant (PR) controller. The new PR current control strategy is developed and implemented to a grid-connected three-phase inverter with LC filter. The controller resulted in a low current total harmonics distortion (THD) of 3% to meet the grid requirement. For the validation, simulation and experimental results showed that the proposed PR controller achieved a low THD over a wide range of operation under 500kW power flow. The detail design of the proposed controller is presented.
