  • Abstract
    Hybrid four-stage architecture is proposed for the adaptor with AC and DC input capability. To achieve high efficiency which is necessary for small size, this dual input power adaptor comprises a CRM boost PFC, high density LLC resonant DCX, Boost DC/DC and a linear regulator as the final stage. The linear regulator stage is introduced as the last stage to not only resolve the voltage regulation issue of the DCX, but also reduce the no-load power consumption. A 90W dual input slim adaptor has been implemented and demonstrated the concept and advantages of proposed architecture.
