Abstract
The centerless grinding possesses obvious advantages over other grinding modes for the characteristic of high precision and high production finishing processes, nevertheless, there exist some disadvantages in it. To increase its grinding performance, an approximate model of grinding system is proposed to better its grinding ability. Some experiments and simulations have been carried out to verify the feasibility of the presented centerless grinding model. Results of experiments and simulations prove that the theoretical predictions are in agreement with the experimental results, and the expected results are very close to those of the experiments. The proposed scheme is able to be used in the optimization of grinding process and the virtual grinding and it is provided with better practical merit.
