Abstract
This paper describes and discusses a module that addresses environmental and sustainability issues as they effect the electronics and IT industries using the problem based learning (PBL) methodology. The module is designed to attempt to instill attitudes and values that are required in order to seek more sustainable solutions in the context of a career in these sectors. In the view of the author, the PBL methodology offers a more effective approach to learning and education for sustainable development than the traditional didactic method.
