Abstract :
We demonstrate the transverse-mode control of 980nm VCSELs using highly angular dependent HCG mirrors. The fabricated a-Si HCG clearly shows the large angular dependence of reflectivity, which enables single transverse-mode operations of large-area VCSELs.
