Abstract :
Permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) has several advantages such as simple structure, high efficiency and Brushless etc, it has obtained widespread application. There are high harmonic contents in the traditional PMSM air gap magnetic field. They will affect the performance of the PMSM. A new rotor structure is presented in this paper. The rotor slot interval changes according to the sine law. We did finite element analysis to the PMSM with new rotor and traditional PMSM by the software ANSYS. The results show that the fundamental content in the air gap magnetic field of the new rotor is high while the High-order harmonic contents is small, the utilization rate of the magnets in the new rotor structure PMSM is high, the new PMSM has a strong overload capacity. So the performance of the new structure PMSM is improved greatly.
