Abstract :
The article in view of classics fractal image compression algorithm coding time excessively long question, studied the EZW in the fractal image coding application, The wavelet coefficients of an image present two characteristics when the image is processed by wavelets: one is that the energy of an image is strongly concentrated in low frequency subimage, the other is that there is a similarity between the same direction high frequency wavelet subimages. But the fractal coding essence was precisely uses the image this similarity. From this designs one kind of fractal image coding algorithm in wavelet domain. The theoretical analysis and the simulation experiment indicated that, This algorithm in guaranteed the quality of the reconstructed image. Under the premise, to some extent the method can reduce the coding time and enhance compression ratio of the reconstructed image.
