Abstract :
In this paper, the problem of decentralized output feedback stabilization for multi-machine power systems is considered and a type of decentralized predictive excitation controller with a holographic structure is developed, It is shown that both the analysis of systems and the design of controllers are simplified by a similar structure. A nonlinear mathematical model, consisting of active power, angle speed and terminal voltage of a synchronous machine used in the output feedback control of a multi-machine power system is derived for the first time. A decentralized excitation controller with holographic structure is designed by means of nonlinear predictive control theory. An example is presented to illustrate the results given in this paper. Simulation results show that the authors´ method is very effective; the proposed controller can improve both power angle stability and terminal voltage characteristics of synchronous machine simultaneously
