Abstract :
This paper explores sensitivities of torsional stresses to design parameters of turbine-generator shafts. The sensitivity guideline is as a new concept to reduce the high torsional torque to which the turbine-generator shafts might be subjected during high speed switching of network faults. In this context, investigations have been conducted on a large turbine-generator model and its life expenditure is calculated
