  • Abstract
Discusses the determination of the Earth´s surface energy exchange from ERS satellite Along-Track Scanning Radiometer (ATSR) data. This paper focuses on turbulence heat flux exchange estimation by using ATSR data in areas of coastal zones. The sea surface temperature (SST) data are from the Rutherford and Appleton Laboratory, Oxford. We present results of solar radiation, net longwave radiation, latent heat flux and sensible heat flux. The air-sea-land heat flux exchange has been addressed in the UK area. The ATSR SST data set has been shown to be useful in helping to estimate the large spatial scale heat flux exchange.
