Abstract :
The filter blockage method is widely used to determine oil contamination levels on the spot because of its distinctive merits. The existing micro-pore filter blockage model for oil contamination level testing can only determine the contamination degrees of the oil through the weight concentration of the solid contaminant particles in oil. However, it can not reflect the size distributions of the particles. In this paper, by establishing the relationship between contamination levels and the flux decline through the filter, the size distribution of solid contaminant particles in oil is determined, and thus the oil contamination level is measured. Experiment shows that the largest error between the values of the measured contamination level and the real contamination level is ±1, which is within the permitted error ranges of the hydraulic industry.
