Abstract :
The key points of this presentation are: we must not assume condition monitoring is always the ´right´ answer; the ´right´ answer requires determination of the best appropriate practice on an asset-by-asset basis (PAS55); business case evaluation helps determines the mix of condition monitoring and inspection that is cost effective; in this way we can determine precisely what we want from condition monitoring; and this forms the basis for developing a benefit driven requirement specification.
