Abstract :
This paper deals with a relatively low-cost, easily processable, energy-efficient, composite material system that is also corrosion-resistant. Its excellent performance in over a decade of outdoor field testing and its applicability for both insulating and structural applications make it a prime candidate for individual insulator and insulating-structural applications in the ocean environment. An overview of the state-of-the-art of polymer concrete dielectrics is presented. Specific possible areas of application and research needs are discussed
