Abstract
With the extensive application of wireless sensor networks, low energy consumption of nodes is the most important consideration. The medium access control (MAC) protocol is an important technology about data link layer. Current several kinds of quite typical MAC protocols are analyzed in the energy saving aspect. Aiming at the application in the ocean environment, a new MAC protocol is put forward in this article.
