Abstract :
As the application of automatic control theory on traditional manual transmission (MT), automatic manual transmission (AMT) regards the control of clutch engagement as a key process to improve automobile performance. Improper control would result in the decrease of vehicle comfort even the failure of shift. The combination of fuzzy control theory and AMT technology is helpful to develop vehicle automation as well as auto shifting. In this paper, the application of fuzzy control theory on AMT clutch engagement controlling was proposed and the effect analyzed based on modeling and simulation. As a result, the active role brought by the application of fuzzy logic was verified.
