Abstract :
Near surface oceanographic records are often dominated by the influence of the wind as opposed to diurnal and semi-diurnal tides over the rest of the water column. If the wind record is available, cross spectral techniques can be used to estimate the wind driven influence and `dewind´ the data records, thus allowing the examination of the low frequency response in the records. This paper presents a spectral dewinding technique and the application of this technique to data records from moorings in a high runoff, tidally energetic fjord
