Abstract :
Much interest on synchronous generator under-excitation limiters (UEL) has been devoted to the tuning of UEL in the single-machine-infinite-bus system. In this paper, the function of the UEL in a multi-machine power system is considered. Using a simplified model developed, some useful expressions pertaining to the UEL controller design have been derived. A tuning method which is based on the frequency response technique is proposed. The UEL control system will ensure that system stability is guaranteed
