Abstract
In a multi-machine power system or decomposed closed sub-system, interaction between the generators should be taken into consideration for the design of the exciter control. It is hard to determine which generators in the system or sub-system and which state variables should be used to get the maximum effect for quieting down the disturbance. An approach using the state variables feedback of the local generator, but including information of the closed sub-system, is proposed. Only sub-optimality is obtained here
