Abstract :
The frequency domain analysis is one of the most widely used methods for tension cable test. A new method is put forward in this paper to extract the modal parameters from the vibration signal of tension cables. The ERA algorithm is used as the core of the new method. And the comparative analysis between ERA method and traditional method is also demonstrated. To detect cable tension by using ERA, more accurate and stable fundamental frequency of corresponding vibration signal of tension cable will be obtained. The new method is applied to some cable-stayed bridges of Ningbo City. The experimental and calculation results indicate that the new method can extract the domain frequency of tension cable more accurately, stably and effectively.
