Abstract
This paper presents MatLAB based user-friendly teaching software to enhance students´ understanding of fundamentals on power flow analysis and loss allocation issues for simultaneous bilateral transactions. The software consists of two interfaces: one aims to facilitate teaching the steady state analysis of the power system that involves the slack bus concept; the other is designed to introduce the basic concepts and methods of loss allocations under deregulation. Their software clarifies some abstract and easily-confused concepts through demonstration examples
