Discuss the development status of combined heat and power in China and other countries all over the world, and analyze the energy saving and environment protection benefit of CHP. Process industry, such as petroleum, chemical, metallurgy and paper making, is the typical energy-intensive industry, which can produce amount of residual heat and waste energy when producing products coinciding with consuming lots of electricity and steam. Feasibility study of CHP in process industry, especially in iron and steel industry, is discussed as having amount heat and power users. It is more and more important that using the residual energy resource such as coal gas, steam in process industry for developing the CHP to energy saving and environment protection.
