Abstract :
The interleaved Boost power factor correction (PFC) converter operating in critical current mode (CRM) features high input power factor, high efficiency and small magnetic components. If the inductors are coupled, the turns number can be reduced, but the input current ripple is increased. This paper discusses the two-phase interleaved CRM Boost converter with an inversely coupled inductor. The coupling effect on the input differential mode (DM) electromagnetic interface (EMI) filter is analyzed and the relations between input current ripple and DM noise are presented. The worst case of DM noise can be obtained by analyzing the input current ripple and experimental results verify the conclusions.
