Abstract :
In this paper we present : 1) A concept for antenna miniaturization by means of dielectric filling and 2) The airgap techniques for matching dielectric filled waveguide antennas. The aperture characteristics as well as the radiation mechanism of dielectric filled waveguide antennas are also described in this paper. The Antenna Miniaturization Concept and Airgap Matching Techniques are proposed as an advance in antenna design, having advantages both in realization and in electrical performance with respect to other miniaturized antennas.
