Abstract
The paper deals with measurement procedures to be adopted in the analysis of electromagnetic emissions by power electronic apparatus. Attention is focused on the characterization of the nonstationary magnetic induction field that can be revealed in the neighboring of adjustable speed motor drives. The inadequacy of the classical procedure usually adopted is first highlighted. Then, an alternative measurement technique capable of granting a deep insight in the characterization of the magnetic induction Field, B, is presented. Finally, the results of experimental tests that validate the proposed technique are shown.
