Abstract
This paper presents the chaotic synchronization of Hindmarsh-Rose model based neurons coupled with gap junction via direct adaptive control. The key parameters in the equation presenting member voltage are the unknown. Firstly, the influence of the strength of gap junction is discussed in detail. If the controller was not applied, the synchronization would occur only when the couple strength of gap junction satisfied some condition. Secondly, a direct adaptive control strategy is designed to obtain the synchronization of two coupled neurons without needing to consider the couple strength of gap junction. Numerals simulations are provided to verify the efficiency of the designed synchronization schemes.
