Abstract
Nerve cells under different temperature show various characteristics when they are stimulated and generate action potential, the principal ions involved in the action potential such as sodium and potassium cations also present different possibility to pass through the nerve membrane as well, higher temperature results in a shorter time for this reversible process. The purpose of this study is to find out the relationship between the temperature and the waveforms that action potential generates. We also explored the effect that temperature brings to the ion gate conductance, especially on sodium and potassium. Simulation results are in good agreement with the known phenomena. The method of this work could be applied to acupuncture and moxibustion as well.
