Abstract :
A water-thermosiphon photovoltaic/thermal (PV/T) system was compared with a novel heat pipe PV/T system under outdoor conditions in Hefei, China. The preliminary results show that the photothermal conversion efficiency of the heat pipe PV/T system was 23.8%, which was 27.9% lower than that of the thermosiphon system efficiency of 33.0%. However, the photovoltaic conversion efficiency of the heat pipe PV/T system was 9.5%, which was 6.7% higher than that of the thermosiphon system´s value of 8.9%.
