Abstract
We analyzed the polarimetric backscattering characteristics of a small urban area measured with SIR-C using a target decomposition method and polarimetric entropy method. Relative contribution of cross scattering as well as polarimetric entropy increase as a function of building density. This result may suggest that the probability of scattering becomes large as the number of surfaces (roofs and walls) increases.
