  • Abstract
After several attemps on transverse dipole array design using numerical technique (MOM) a simple and reliable design method is derived. The method heart´s is an intensive use of a database generated with a Moment Method. The basic topology is a series of transverse dipoles coupled electromagnetically to a microstrip line. Each array element is considered as an entity which is described as an equivalent circuit. This method allows a very simple interface with commercially available CAD softwares. As examples, two design of a six dipole linear array is presented. The first is a passive one showing a gain of 16 dB. The second one is the evolution of the first one as an active design showing 27.5 dB of gain at the center frequency of 10 GHz. In each of these designs, the method is shown realiable.
