Abstract :
Reconstructs horizontal section autoradiographs from a Gerbil brain using different semiautomated and fully automated three dimensional reconstruction methods (minimal area of overlap, artificial landmarks and principal axis transformation). These methods are compared quantitatively (area of overlap coefficient) as well as qualitatively (volume rendering technique with specific cutouts). All methods provide similarly good results. The principal axis transformation, preferable as a non-interactive procedure, works well due to the use of horizontal sections
