Abstract :
A scheme for high resolution image coding is proposed in this paper. In this scheme, 8×8 block-based DCT and multiresolution reordering is performed on the input image to obtain three-level wavelet-like tree structure. The same procedures are performed repeatedly on LL subband to obtain multi-level wavelet-like tree structure. The experiment results demonstrate that the proposed scheme provides better PSNR performance at high bitrate than other DCT-based rearrangement ones.
