Abstract :
As a result of the rapid increase in power demand, Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO)´s power transmission network becomes heavily loaded and stressed. In such stressed power systems, due to the presence of increased nonlinearity and the existence of nonlinear modal interactions, there exists very complex dynamic behavior when subjected to small or large disturbances. In this paper, normal forms of vector fields are used to analyze dynamic behavior of the KEPCO system under stressed operating conditions
