After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE´s Publication Principles.
We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper.

Mission statements is the foundation for the choice of a firm´s strategy, a definite mission statements and object can result in the realistic goal. This paper makes a study on the relation between the quality of mission statements and firm´s performance, which sampling from the top 100 list company in Fortune (Chinese edition) in 2005, and try to find the characters in it. Our view is that most components in mission statements is not associated with firm´s performance, but the component, such as product and service, should be paid more attention to be put into the value system for an excellent company.
