Abstract :
Recently, the vanadium redox battery (VRB) will be applied to electric vehicle as a new kind of efficient battery. However, to reach this goal, some problems about the electrolyte stability of VRB have to be solved. In this paper, some experiments on the electrolyte stability of VRB have been done, and the experimental result is also analyzed. The main influences on the stability of positive electrolyte are the concentration of sulfuric acid, the concentration of V (V), the state of charge (SOC), the temperature and additives in electrolyte. To the negative electrolyte, the main problems are the oxidation of V (II) and the sediment of V (III). Experiments also prove that adding additives is the best of all solutions.
