Abstract :
In this paper, we address the problem of optimal node distribution in a multi-hop network in order to guarantee a desired lifetime with a given reliability. To this end, the problem is formulated as a combinatorial optimization problem. It has been shown that this optimization problem can be decomposed into a number of simpler optimization problems, each of which can be solved efficiently. The optimality of the solution is then verified by simulations.
