  • Abstract
The subcarrier type optical communications has many advantages, first of all it offers a very economic solution for high bit-rate data communications networks. In the paper some new achievements recently obtained in this field are presented. A new subcarrier type optical receiver is proposed based on the combined optical-microwave mixing process. The details of the new arrangement are investigated and an optimum solution is presented.
