Abstract
A pattern synthesis method, which incorporates deterministic nulls in the radiative near-field of an array, is presented The problem is formulated as a constrained least-mean-square approximation and an exact solution is given. Both linear and planar arrays are considered The usefulness and possible applications of near-field nulling are discussed.
