Abstract
Direct Digital Synthesizer has become the first choice for the signal generator in modern electronic devices. But the spur prevents it from replacing traditional frequency synthesizer completely. This paper introduces a new frequency source, conjoining Sigma Delta and CORDIC, to produce high-resolution and low spur analog wave-forms. With phase noise as low as -107dBc/Hz, the generated sine waveforms at MF and HF show the better performances than those produced by general analog signal generator. Furthermore, It does not require a ROM, a multiplier or DAC, easily realized in FPGA(S), CPLD or ASIC.
