Abstract :
This paper focuses on header compression for network mobility. NEMO (Network Mobility) Basic Support uses bi-directional tunneling to provide mobility support to the entire network. However, that leads to high overhead in mobile networks, which are generally connected by means of low bandwidth wireless. The overhead is more significant in nested mobile networks with multiple successive encapsulation. We consider header compression to reduce this undesirable overhead. We present header compression process and evaluate its performance for transmission of IPv6 flows in non-nested and nested mobile networks.
